Overview
Klingbar runs synthetic focus groups. You compose a panel from our persona library, run a session against a stimulus you supply, and read the synthesis. To make that possible we hold three buckets of data on you: your account, your billing metadata via Stripe, and the focus-group sessions you create. We don't sell, rent, or trade any of it. We don't run third-party analytics today.
This page is short on purpose. Jump to what we collect, cookies, your rights, or contact.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address, your display name, and the WebAuthn passkey credentials you register for sign-in. Passkeys live as public-key blobs — we never see the private key your authenticator generates.
- Session content. The stimuli you supply (taglines, ad copy, briefs), the prompts you send to personas, the persona responses, the synthesis we generate, and any clips you save. This is the work product the platform exists to produce.
- Billing metadata via Stripe. When you subscribe to a tier or buy a top-up pack we redirect you to Stripe Checkout. Stripe holds your card details directly; we hold a customer reference, the tier you're on, the credit balance, and the receipt history. Card numbers never touch our database.
- Operational logs. Standard request logs (timestamp, method, path, status, duration, IP address) for debugging and abuse mitigation. Retained for thirty days.
How we use it
To run the product you signed up for: render personas, route prompts to the language model, return the synthesis, and bill correctly. We use your email to send transactional messages — magic links, billing receipts, dunning notices, data-export downloads — and notification emails you've enabled. We do not send marketing email today.
Cookies
Klingbar sets three first-party cookies. We set no third-party tracking cookies today.
klingbar_session— required. Holds your signed-in session on authenticated pages. Without it you can't sign in. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax. Cleared when you sign out.klingbar-theme— preference. Records your light, dark, or match-system theme choice. Set when you click the theme toggle in the footer or topbar; lasts one year. Removing it just resets the page to follow your operating system.klingbar-cookie-consent— preference. Records whether you've accepted or rejected the consent banner. Set when you click Accept or Reject; lasts one year. Reopen the banner from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
If we ever add third-party analytics or other non-essential cookies, the consent banner gates them: nothing extra fires until you explicitly accept.
Your rights
- Delete your account. Visit your account's danger zone to permanently delete your account. This removes your sessions, your clips, and your account record. Stripe billing history is retained per Stripe's own policy.
- Export your data. Visit your account's danger zone to request a download of your sessions, transcripts, and synthesis output. You'll receive an email with a download link when the archive is ready.
- Change your email. Visit your profile to start an email change; we'll send a confirmation link to the new address.
- Other requests. Write to support@klingbar.com with anything else — DPA paperwork, GDPR access requests, deletion requests on a friend's behalf, etc.
Data retention
Account and session data are retained until you delete them. Operational logs are pruned at thirty days. Outbound email metadata (delivery receipts) is retained for one year for debugging. Stripe holds billing data per their own retention policy.
